Shades of Black and Festivals

If you couldn't already tell, all of my March favorites are black. I didn't realize it till I was actually taking the photos for this blog post! It's pretty funny cause anything black or gray- I'm immediately drawn to it! Anyways, lets get on with it. This month flew by pretty quickly! I can't believe it's already the end of the month. I guess I got so caught up in school and work- time zipped right on by and didn't bother to stop! With time moving so quickly, I needed to plan something that'll cheer me up and can look forward to- so I bought tickets to Coachella and Outsidelands!

With Coachella and Outsidelands coming up, a girl's gotta prepare herself! I've only been to warped tour and 1 day of Outsidelands so I am a bit out of my depth here. Come on! Camping for 3-4 days and a 3 day festival?! I don't know if I'll make it! But I bought a few things that I think might help me out!

This right here is the ultimate festival/travel backpack! It has a zipper which is like thee #1 I look for in anything. I'm always scared someone is going to steal my shit! It also has a small front pocket that I can put easy stuff like tissues or mints. There's also a small side pocket that you can stuff like coins into which is like A+ in my opinion.

Next up we have this super cute fedora hat! I'm not really much of a hat person cause frankly I think my face shape is pretty ovalish/roundish and doesn't really suit me but I have come to love this hat! I think it'll be perfect not only for those scorching hot summer festivals but also for those amazing sunny summer days! This hat catches a lot of lint that's super annoying but hopefully it'll do a better job protecting me from those nasty rays!

Look at this watch and tell me it isn't cute! This watch isn't flashy and all crazy. It's simple and elegant. I love this watch, I think its so great to have a watch that matches everything and that hint of rose gold around the face pulls it all together. It's easy to tell time on it and I've been wearing it constantly ever since I got it!

Last on my favorites this month is this super useful travel bag I found at Nordstrom Rack. With all these festivals coming up, this is the most essential item I'll be bringing with me! It fits EVERYTHING! It has a huge pocket on the bottom that will fit my deodorant/razor and all these other compartments that will fit my other necessities like my lotion and hair bits. It also has a little hanger at the top that way you can bring it into the shower with you! Seriously, not carrying a million bags full of individual things is the best. Best part is that this was only $12! I can't believe it!

Music Favorites

Well that does it for my March Favorites. I know it was only like a few bits but I still hope you guys liked it! Until next time!

Playlist / Artist Spotlight

Relax and Unwind Spotify Playlist

With finals and projects coming up, I am completely stressed to the max! So when I found this playlist on Spotify, I seriously dieddd! This playlist is called "Relax & Unwind" and no joke- it does make you feel relaxed. I am not being paid to say any of this but I truly LOVE all the songs on there and I have been playing it non-stop. I've been playing it while I work, while I sleep, while I drive.. I think this playlist may have saved me from going insane!

This playlist features artists like Vance Joy and George Ezra which of whom, I am currently obsessed with! George and Vance are really great musicians. They have that quality about them that once you hear them sing, you're hooked. George has that deep-husky comforting haunting voice that instantly grabs you and Vance has an enchanting charm to his songs and lyrics. I definitely recommend listening.

So if you're stressed, take a breather. Turn on the music and let it flow! :) x

Finding Motivation

Ever feel like you need to do something, but you're completely unmotivated to do it? I'm having that problem now! Actually.. I have it quite often which is really bad to say! So don't laugh that I'm attempting to write a post about finding motivation!

Step 1: To find motivation, TAKE A LONG HOT SHOWER!

I'm not kidding! I do all my best thinking in the shower. I think it's the steam that really helps clear up my mind. Also cleaning and washing the body makes you feel more relaxed and open-minded. Once I'm in there, I think about a lot of things and I always say to myself "once I get out of the shower, I'm going to do it!" - granted that half the time I actually don't, but it's definitely a good start!

Step 2: Watch a movie.

I know my steps seem a bit ridiculous but hear me out! Most often I find myself motivated from watching movies. Whether it's a gut-wrenching drama or hilarious comedy, there's always a message that gets across to me. The movies makes my brain work without me doing all the work!

Step 3. Listen to some good slow jams.

Slow jams often have the most inspiring lyrics. Listening to lyrics will definitely give you an extra boost to get you going. Not only is it motivating, it's therapeutic. Don't underestimate the power of music people! The Smiths, Wolfton, James Bay, Beck, Norah Jones, Josh Record- just take a listen.

Step 4. Role model yourself up.

We all have role models and awesome people we look up to but, we're not them. No matter how hard you try to be like them, you'll never be them. The faster you realize that- less time you'll waste. Instead of trying to be like them, focus on you and focus those characteristics that you like so much and apply it on yourself. Be your own version of your role model. Let your role models motivate you into become the person you want to be.

Step 5. Talk to someone, or something.

It's not easy to tell someone you've lost motivation, but it's the best thing to do. That person you're telling will not only listen they'll get you back to where you need to be. They will give you those words that'll push you. OR if you don't feel like talking to someone, talk to something. A wall or a tree or your dog. Doesn't really matter what. Venting out is almost always a good way to find motivation!

AND if all else fails,

Crawl up into fetus position and cry with the music blasting. It surprisingly does wonders!

And that's all the tips I have so far. Best of luck to all of you! I am personally struggling right now, so I'm going to take my own advice and take a hot shower!

Until next time x
