Things I Wish I Knew: Closet Edition

When you're twenty something, it seems like there's always an event going on. Whether it's
going out for someone's birthday, going to grab drinks, a date, going to a interview- there's
alway something happening! One of the biggest things I wish I knew was to have
closet essentials in my wardrobe to help me out! So here, with all my wisdom (basically none)
I want to share with you things I wish I knew!

#1. Always have a blazer ready to go.

source: Forever21

The blazer is perfect for every occasion. I can't begin to count how many times in college where we had to wear "business attire" for presentations, so definitely throw one in your
closet! Blazers are also perfect to make your messy look into super polished.
Some blazers are super expensive, but Forever21 and H&M usually have great deals.

#2. Get a Cocktail Dress

source: LuLu's

You never know when there's an event to go to! Seriously! I mean, sometimes there
are like dinners where your friends want to dress "fancy" or "nice" and it's hard to
find something to wear, so be sure to have a spare! Plus, it's also perfect for a date night!

#3. A Flirty Top goes a long way

source: TopShop

I can't stress how much a flirty top has helped me in sticky situations! If you're going to
a bar or a casual dinner, definitely get something that works for anything. You'll totally look effortless. Let the top do the work. Not you! If you're doing something casual- go for a flirty top and throw on a pair of jeans and heels for that instant girly/sassy look.

#4. Invest in a good pair of heels!

source: TopShop

Speaking of heels, seriously invest in a good pair! These babies will get you through job interviews,
clubs, fancy events, dates etc. Not only will you feel gorgeous, you'll look the part! They'll
accentuate those legs you got and instantly give you a classy polished look.

#5. Don't be afraid to go comfy

source: Jack Wills

I seriously wish I could wear pajamas all day-everyday! But, we live in a world where if we
do that, people think we're psychotic. Anyways, definitely invest in a good and comfy pair of jammies.
Sleep is YOUR BEST FRIEND! So make the most of it. Now, I'm a girl who loves
to wear just a t-shirt but I have to wear something soft that I can totally snooze in!

Anddddd... that's all I got for now! I definitely loved writing this. I'm seeing
more editions of this coming soon!

Until next time loves! x

Books, Shows, & Other Things

If you've been following me on Instagram, then you know
I've been obsessing over some books and some new shows & have some exciting news!

————

First let's start with the books I've been absolutely loving!

I bought this book a couple of days ago and halfway reading it.. I realized it's the sequel to "If I Stay!!" Super spoiler alert since I did not read or watch the book/movie! I can't believe I didn't realize it sooner. Now I'm in like a mess. I don't know whether or not to go back and read the other one or just continue with this one. This one is actually really good. It's from Adam's perspective and I'm assuming it's picking up where they left off. So far it's keeping me hooked.

I've read other Gayle Forman books like "Just One Day" and "Just One Year"and I gotta say- I'm often frustated! Forman has a cooky way of writing. She writes about the two main characters spending one wonderful day together and then leaves you hanging to see if they ever find each other again! Hopefully this isn't the case for Where She Went. I'm crossing my fingers for a happy ending.

Next onto shows!

THE 100

HOLY GUACAMOLE. I don't even care if I spelled guacamole right because this show makes me all fritzy! I ABSOLUTELY love this show! I started watching it on Netflix and I'm sooo glad I did. I've binged watched both of season 1 & 2! I'm on 3 now. CW is constantly coming out with really great shows! The 100 is about earth being contaminated with radiation and how people have been sent to live in space for like 70+ years and now they sent 100 dilenquent teens to earth to see if it's survivable.
The 100 find out it is but they're not alone!

I don't want to bore you about the details of the show, but it's very gutsy and definitely not at all what you think. I love how strong Clarke is and how she and Bellamy have that leadership bond which is super lovable yet waiting to be torn apart. This show definitely makes me feel badass even though I'm not in it! HA! :P

FRIENDS

Thank you Netflix! I've been watching from season 1 and now I'm on 5! I can't believe it. But then again it's FRIENDS! I adore this show so much. Even though it was made in the 90's, I love how timeless it is and how even now it's super relatable. There's nothing else to say other than PIVOT!

EXCITING NEWS!

I don't know if it's exciting news for you, but for me it is! I'm walking the graduation ceremony this Spring! Woohoo! I have enough units to walk. Unfortunately I'll have to go back to finish my last two classes in the Fall but I'm so happy to be taking the stage I don't even care! I thought I had to wait a whole year to walk. I just have to buckle down and make sure to pass all my classes and everything will work out fine. Things are coming up so quickly, it's kinda scary.

Well anyways, until next time loves!

It's not Monday

Surprise! I know it's not Monday but I haven't shared songs in a while, so I thought.. what the hell! It's my blog, I can do whatever I want! Here are some songs, I've been hitting replay!

I don't know what it is about this song, but I adore it.
It has that perfect edgy-nostalgic feel to it.
I've literally been playing this song non-stop!
Definitely my fav this month!

Super indie peppy music! It feels like summer in a song.

This song is great to listen to when you need a bit of a pick me up.

I've been finding a lot of awesome indie songs on Spotify!
This song has that nostalgic 80's prom feel to it.

I'm ending this with a super fun song!
I love this song, it makes me wanna grab a partner and Congo dance!

Welps. Until next time!

December Favorites

First of all, I just want to thank all you readers and those of you who left lovely comments in my previous post! I'm definitely thinking a lot about everything. Anyways, let's put that on pause and get into my December favorites! December has been such a crazy month, although only a few items have made this list, there are a lot of things I loved but just can't remember!

Up first is my candy from Paddywax! I was in Urban Outfitters, and I smelled this amazing candle. It has such an earthy smell, I knew I had to have it. Then I looked at the price. And I was like NO THANKS. $28 for a freaking candle?! I found a much cheaper alternative.
It's made by the same company but it's much smaller.
The smell is very strong, so the small one is just perfect and only for $5 bucks!

Q & A- 5 Year Journal

I got this from my friend, and I've actually been filling it out! It asks 1 question a day and it's been making me reflect on my daily life. There are fun questions and there are also serious questions.
Lets hope I don't quit halfway through!

This tinted lip balm is sooo hydrating! I love that it gives me a hint of color without being too flashy. My lips feel so nice after application, I definitely think it's a beauty must-have.

My face is so weird. It's oily yet dry at the same time! I don't even understand it myself. It's so difficult to find something that accommodates my oily skin without drowning it so I was super glad when  I found this mask! It makes my skin feel hydrated without feeling oily and gross. The mango smell makes it even better and all you really need is a tiny amount.
I know it's a bit pricy but it totally lasts forever.

Goldwell: Leave in Cream Fluid

Every time I go to a salon, I never leave empty handed. The salon I go to always uses such amazing products on me and I always end up buying one or two things. This time was a leave-in conditioner. I've been having trouble looking for something that suits my dry-coarser hair, and I absolutely love this stuff. I put a little bit in my wet-hair after my shower and it leaves it baby smooth!

VH1: Hindsight Tv Series

Now this just aired on Wednesday, but I'm already in love with it and I though I would just mention it in my favorites. The pilot episode reeled me in completely. It has a certain charm and familiarity to the show and I just can't wait for the next episode! If you haven't seen it yet, it's about a girl named Becca and basically her life hasn't gone the way she wanted. She starts thinking about her past and how things would have turned differently if she decided a different path. She ends up, I guess, time traveling back to the past and it shows her doing things differently.
It's such a fun show and its pretty relatable. Definitely check it out!

And that's all folks, hope you liked my favorites and
until next time!

Stuck between Wanderlust and Responsibility

I don't know about you, but ever since I was a kid I've been dreaming about traveling the world and seeing all the sights and sounds, eating and dancing my way from country to country.
I'm sure every 20- something must have felt this way one time or another.. but recently I've been thinking about it a lot.

Maybe it's because of the New Year or the fact that I'm in my last year of college but something is totally hit me. I'm never going to be as young as I am at this moment.
I don't know whether to seize this moment or to postpone it.

I'm stuck between wanderlust and responsibility. Yes, of course I want to go but the responsibility of finding a job and finding a stable path of life is equal in balance. I don't want to disappoint what I've been working for all my life, yet I also want to just ditch it all and run away. Also another small detail is holding me back- I got no money. I've heard and read about people who just pack up and leave and it turns out wonderfully for them- but they're always those people who are super outgoing and full of life and easy to talk to- you know the type. I feel like it would blow up in my face.
The desire is real, but so is the nasty idea of becoming a grown up.

Anyways, I don't know what to do! A lot of my friends already know what they're doing after college with their full-time careers and stuff. Yet here I am.. almost done with college with no freaking clue on what to do! I mean, what is really the point of slaving away in school only to slave away at a job?

Have any of you felt this way? What did you decide to do?
Did you follow your curiosity of the world or did you find a way with a career?
I'd really love to know.
