Christmas Shenanigans

Merry (belated)Christmas! I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday :) Mine was quite nice. *cue flash back blurp* I played board games (Clue and Monopoly) with my cousins and my brother. We had a huge Christmas lunch. Christmas in my family means lots of Asian food and a hint of American food. My cousin made some super yummy potatoes that were TO DIE FOR. I actually want some now just thinking about it! 

 This is me and my brother on Christmas morning! We had to wait forever to rip into our presents because my mom wanted to take photos. The onesie I'm wearing is from target and honestly, it is like the best thing ever! It's so comfy and amazing. I love it! 

I am in no way bragging about my presents, I just wanted to share what I got! 

I got some really lovely gifts from friends and family. 

I'm not gonna go into detail about each one but my favorite has to be the rayban sunglasses!

I can't believe my brother got it for me! I made a post earlier on about not wanting to splurge on expensive things, but this is honestly such an amazing gift! I'm definitely going to take good care of it!

Sweaters and Pajamas

 If that fire isn't putting you into the Christmas mood, I don't know what will! My brother finally turned on our fireplace, and it's absolutely warming (get it)! Can you believe that we never turn it on, even during the winter?!

Anyways, this weekend has been a doozy. I went to my annual Christmas party with my cousins and friends and I was suppose to go to an Ugly Sweater party the same night but my stomach did not agree with me. Don't you just hate it when your stomach totally ruins the night?!

Ignoring my stomach, I had a pretty good time at the party. It was nice catching up with everyone and I freaking loved my sweater! I got it from BooHoo.

So I'm gonna keep this post nice and sweet.

Party on, dudes!

I was flipping through Netflix and after watching Wayne's World, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure came up as a suggestion. I had no expectations watching this and holy hell. IT WAS SO GOOD. It's such a great 80's comedy movie. If you don't know what this movie is about, it's about two friends who need to do a history report on famous leaders to pass their class. They travel in time to pick up a few friends who help them along the way. 

While watching this movie, I couldn't get over how they talked! I'm pretty sure Bill and Ted were stoners but they were freaking hilarious. Every lingo like "most excellent and party on dudes" killed me! If you haven't watched this movie, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN. You will not regret watching this. If you do, I'm terribly sorry. Think of it as one of those movies you would want to watch on a chill night. 

So go grab your popcorn and catch this flick. 

And if my suggestion wasn't enough. Listen to this power ballad they play in the movie.

My favorite music

I was rewatching Skin Uk (btw, favorite UK show ever) and a particular scene jumped and grabbed me. It wasn't what was happening in the show, but it was a shot of Franky from gen 3 staring out a car window. It was right then when music played- but it isn't your regular type of sound.

It had an eerie quality about it. It felt like you couldn't hear the music, but you do. I don't know how to describe it correctly but I just absolutely love it. It's the type of music that really grabs you by the heart and moves you even though there's not much to it.

I know it only plays for like 10 seconds. But it's a good 10 seconds. Beautiful music doesn't have to be played long.

Buying things either on sale or at a decent low price is literally the best feeling in the world. I LOVE ME A GOOD BARGAIN! This months favorites contains my 3 most loved- cheap items. My wafer sunglasses, my floral gold watch and perfect nude lipstick. 

I was looking for a knockoff of the RayBan Clubmaster sunglasses because there's no way in hell I am spending $100+ on a pair of sunglasses. Come on- get real! I could use that money for food! Anyways, I found these on Amazon and I think they're a pretty decent pair of sunglasses! Only problem is that it doesn't have all that stuff to protect your eyeballs so.. I guess I get what I paid for :/ Nevertheless, I think they're absolutely adorable and it's good to have a good cheap pair. If it breaks of gets damage.. no harm done! 

When I stumbled upon this on ASOS, I was in shock! I've been looking for a watch for a really long time and not only was this gorgeous, it was on sale! A lot of watches nowadays are $50+ and I'm so glad I got these below $30. I've been wearing it non-stop! It's a little chunky, but hey- fashion right?!

Girl Online, Going offline xx

It finally came! Needless to say, I was very excited when I saw this sitting in my mailbox! I've been dying to read this novel by one of my favorite YouTubers, Zoella. Honestly, I finished the book the very same night. Ha! Don't judge. I'm just a fast reader. Anyway, the book was very different and similar to what I was expecting. I know she mentioned that there was anxiety in it, but it definitely opened up my eyes on what panic attacks are really like. And for that, I was genuinely interested. I personally don't suffer from panic attacks, but I do know what it's like to feel anxious. 

It's refreshing to read about it in a book, is all I'm trying to say.

As for the rest of the book, I won't give too much away but it surprised me. I only wish that the ending had a little bit more depth. Like perhaps an extra chapter to wrap everything up would have been nice. Nevertheless, it was a pretty decent book. It didn't make me ball my eyes out like The Fault in our Star  or The Silver Linings Playbook but it was good. 

If I'm totally being honest, I would give it a 3/5 rating.

Lipstick Jungle

Hey ma, I'm becoming a woman! I finally bought some lipstick! Typically, I use tinted lip balms but recently I really started getting into lipsticks. I've always been scared to purchase lipstick because I just didn't have the confidence to wear it. I felt like super awesome girls only wore lipstick, but now it's totally cool! Even though it's kind of high maintenance, it's still great to wear! I think the pop of color really makes a difference. 

I started with a nude color(08) to get use to the idea of wearing lipstick. I didn't want to worry and feel super self-conscious about it. I wanted something easy- so that even if I forgot that I had it on it and accidentally rubbed it, it wouldn't smear and look dumb on my face. Which brings me to my next point, if you're going to go with something that isn't your natural color, BE CAREFUL. Once that thing smears, there's no going back! I suggest maybe using lipliner then apply the lipstick.

What's Winter?

Winter doesn't really exist in LA. Sure the nights are colder, but it's not cold enough to start wearing scarves. I wish it was.. but unfortunately we're blessed with amazing weather. Lately it's been about 65-70 degrees and I have been loving wearing my bohemian inspired pants! I bought these at Target and they're honestly like the most amazing pair of pants ever! The only problem is that it does hug quite tight to you know- the cooch. But I just gotta wear a long shirt to cover it! Ha!

Where the hell have I been?!

UM. HELLO. WHERE THE HELL HAVE I BEEN?! I just started watching The Walking Dead and I am seriously HOOKED. I cannot believe I didn't start watching this sooner! Given that I'm only on the second season but still! I knew this show was going to give me anxiety but anxiety well worth having! Every character is so dynamic and the cast chemistry is so great. The scenes are so intense! Anyways, I can't wait to be watching more! I would definitely recommend it to everyone! It's definitely not as gruesome.. wait. yea it's gruesome but just watch it okay?! Trust x

Mediocre Hallloween

Halllloo everyone! (see what I did there) This past weekend was Halloween, and I don't know about you guys but my halloween was kind of lame! I went out to a bar in Pomona with my cousins and some of friends. We were planning on going to a club but the line was wayy to long and it was raining! There was no way we were going to STAND IN THE RAIN to get in! So we found shelter at the bar next door. The bar was decent, however the music was kind of awful. I don't mean to hate on the music but it wasn't really music I could dance to. I was always off beat and the tunes weren't catchy enough for me to bust my hump. I was glad to be out with cousins and friends.. but the environment could have been better!

Hope all of you had a better Halloween than I did!

Perfect Little Backpack

I have been on the hunt for a little backpack for the LONGEST time, and I have finally found the PERFECT ONE! I'm so excited! I found this little gem at Ross. Can you believe it?! It was only $27.99- a total bargain! I think this backpack is the best alternative to a cross body purse. I can have hands free and it's not too bulky to get in the way. It's very lightweight and the colors are neutral so it'll go with any outfit! 

The brand of this backpack is Madden Girl which I'm assuming is by Steve Madden. No matter the brand, I'm just super happy to have this perfect little backpack!

Ipsy ◆ October Review

I recently signed up for Ipsy a while ago, and I really wanted to share with you my honest opinions! If you don't know what Ipsy is, Ipsy is an online store where you pay a monthly subscription and they send you a package of makeup/ beauty goodies. I've only received two subscription packages so far, and I must say- I'm quite disappointed. I suppose I get what I paid for.

Typically the package comes with a little makeup bag, with your contents inside. Honestly, I would really only use like two or three of the items they sent me, the rest I just ignore.

In this month's subscription, it came with a matte lipstick, mascara, some hand lotion, a highlighter, and some makeup wipes. I tried the lipstick out and it immediately felt super dry on my lips. I know it's "matte" but it felt so gross and dry on my lips, I immediately wiped it off. As for the mascara, it's pretty decent. I think the item I love most in this batch is the highlighter! It's very sheer and gives that amazing glow. 

I haven't tried the other two items yet, but I'm sure I will eventually. This month's subscription was pretty disappointing, hopefully next months will be better!

Shows I'm happy that are back! And new?

It's fall season! And with fall, ALL THE SHOWS COME BACK! I don't understand why tv networks don't bring back the shows during the summer, cause duh- people have more free time during the summer. Free time to watch shows! Now that it's fall.. school has started and the holidays are coming up.. WHO HAS THE TIME?! But anyways, excuse the rant. Here are some shows I'm super excited to come back! (warning: contains the goods! aka spoilers)

COMEBACKS

#1: NEW GIRL

I'm excited to see how things are going to play out with Jess, Nick, Schmidt, Cece, Winston and Coach this new season! Things were left a bit crazy the last time we saw them. I wanna see how having the four of them under 1 roof is going to end! 

#2: ONCE UPON A TIME

I can't believe Emma brought back Mirian! Regina and Robin were just getting cute! I don't really care for the whole "Frozen" thing.. but we shall see. 

#3: THE VAMPIRE DIARIES

So we were left off with the whole trying to get back shenanigan.. And Damon and Bonnie are on the other side. I don't know how the hell they're gonna come back from that but nevertheless I'm interested to see how it'll all play out! Honestly I didn't really like Elena and Damon together just because things were also so messy between them. Stefan forever in my heart! 

#4: PARKS AND RECREATION

Honestly don't remember how last season ended, but I know I'll always have a good laugh with this show! Can't wait to watch! 

NEW SHOWS

#1: Red Band Society

• Heard it was pretty good, I guess I'll have to watch to know for sure! Idk about the whole "hospital" thing.. might get a bit too emotional for me, ya know? 

#2: How to Get Away with Murder

• I stumbled on part of an episode and I was so absolutely sucked into the show that even though I didn't know what the hell was going on.. I just wanted to keep watching! I'll definitely have to start from the beginning! 

I know I'm probably forgetting some  really good shows.. but this is what I can remember at the top of my head!

Shower Favorites

There are some things that I absolutely love using during the shower. 

The first thing is the Ro's Argan Body Conditioner from Lush. If you're like me.. I HATE putting on lotion after I shower, so when my friend Jasmine recommended this to me- I FELL in love! You put this on during the shower and when you step out, you're all hydrated! So long lotion! (after the shower anyways) *I suggest putting this on after your body wash etc. 

The second thing I love is my Nivea Body Wash in Tea Rose Blossom Scent and Almond Essence. This body wash makes my skin feel super smooth and the smell is so refreshing! I've gone through like 2 bottles already! 

The last thing is my little loofa buff. Now, I know this seems weird. But let me tell you! This loofa is amazing. It leaves your body feeling smoother than butta! I use it with my body wash and asdhjkfdl! The best. I tell you.

Autumn Go-To Outfit

When the weather gets chiller.. I love to wear huge oversized sweaters. Something about snuggling up is just so comforting. I recently went shopping and picked up the perfect sweater!
